Kickers look to complete season-sweep in matinee at Ontario Soccer Centre

VAUGHN, Ontario – Toronto FC II will host the Richmond Kickers in a special Wednesday matinee at the Ontario Soccer Centre with the visitors looking to complete a season-sweep of the series, and build on a two-game winning streak. Kickoff is set for 11:30 a.m. ET.

Toronto FC II news and notes

  • Current record: 1-3-2, 5 points
  • Toronto fell last Wednesday night 2-0 to Louisville City FC as the team’s losing streak extended to three games after going undefeated in three to start the season.
  • TFC II has been held scoreless in each of its past two games after recording seven goals in its first four games of the season.
  • Toronto will likely be without four players for the match, as Skylar Thomas, Chris Mannella, Jordan Hamilton and team-leading scorer Raheem Edwards called into Canada’s U23 squad this week to visit Guyana and Grenada.

Richmond Kickers news and notes

  • Current record: 4-2-1, 13 points
  • The Kickers took their second consecutive victory this past Saturday with a 1-0 win against Wilmington Hammerheads FC.
  • Richmond moved into fifth position with the win, which came via an own goal by the Hammerheads’ Ashani Fairclough.
  • The Kickers have been led this season by Yudai Imura, who has three goals. Five other players have also found the net for the side.
  • Goalkeeper Matt Turner has recorded back-to-back shutouts on loan from the New England Revolution since Ryan Taylor’s season-ending injury.
