MELBOURNE, Fla. – Orlando City B rallied from a two-goal deficit to earn a 2-2 draw against fellow expansion side Bethlehem Steel FC on Saturday at the Titan Soccer Complex. Bethlehem benefited from an early own goal and Fabian Herbers pushed the lead to 2-0 in the opening minutes. Orlando worked its way back as Tyler Turner scored a goal and assisted Michael Cox’s equalizer while playing with a man advantage. Orlando moved to 2-5-2 (8 points) and 1-3-1 at home while the Steel moved to 2-2-3 (9 points).

Scoring:
11’ – BST – Own Goal (Tony Rocha)
14’ – BST – Fabian Herbers (Derrick Jones)
17’ – ORL – Tyler Turner
54’ – ORL – Michael Cox (Tyler Turner)

Three Things That Mattered:

  • 1. The game took a significant turn when Bethlehem’s Walter Restrepo was sent off in the 49th minute. For an Orlando team that has played the bulk of its home matches down a man themselves, it was new territory for the host side, which took advantage five minutes later.

  • 2. After the Steel partially cleared Orlando’s free kick chance in the 54th minute, Turner looped the ball back in as Bethlehem’s defense tried to push up. However, Michael Cox stayed onside, chested Turner’s pass down and slotted into the back of the net for the equalizer.

  • 3. Though the win eluded Bethlehem, the side extended its unbeaten streak to four games, moving to 1-0-3 during this current stretch.
