HARRISBURG, Pa. – The Harrisburg City Islanders and FC Cincinnati split the points on Saturday at FNB Field as they played to a 1-1 draw. Craig Foster scored an early goal for Harrisburg (2-4-1, 7 points), only to concede a second-half equalizer by Jimmy McLaughlin of Cincinnati (4-2-2, 14 points) off a set piece chance. Cincinnati extended its unbeaten streak to four games (2-0-2), and during this stretch has had to overcome a deficit in every match.

Scoring:
17’ – HAR – Craig Foster (Paul Wilson)
81’ – CIN – Jimmy McLaughlin

Three Things That Mattered:

  • 1. During Craig Foster’s opening tally, Paul Wilson provided a perfect through ball to get past the Cincinnati defense and Foster finished with the outside of his right foot into the right of the frame for a 1-0 lead. Wilson has three assists on the season and Foster leads the City Islanders with three goals.

  • 2. Cincinnati capitalized on its set-piece opportunity in the 81st minute. The corner kick was crossed in from the left and Harrisburg’s defense attempted to head and then foot the ball out of the area, but from 16 yards out Jimmy McLaughlin had enough space to line up a shot inside the right post to tie the score at 1-1.

  • 3. FC Cincinnati’s defense has yet to post a clean sheet this season in eight games. It marked the seventh time Cincinnati has allowed one goal.
