Toronto looks to bounce back, Louisville completes busy stretch

VAUGHN, Ontario – Toronto FC II will return home to host Louisville City FC on Wednesday evening looking to rebound from back-to-back defeats, while the Eastern Conference leaders will end a busy two weeks looking to end on a high note. Kickoff at the Ontario Soccer Centre is set for 7:30 p.m. ET.

Toronto FC II news and notes

  • Current record: 1-2-2, 5 points
  • After opening the season with a three-game undefeated streak, Toronto has lost back-to-back games, including a 1-0 setback against the Richmond Kickers on Saturday.
  • Saturday’s game was the first this season in which TFC II was held without a goal, as Matt Turner made five saves for the Kickers to earn the shutout.
  • Raheem Edwards continued to be a major threat going forward for Toronto with four shots, of which three were on goal against Richmond. Edwards is tied for third in the USL with four goals.
  • Toronto has scored first in each of its first two home games of the season, while Louisville has conceded the first goal in four of its seven games so far.

Louisville City FC news and notes

  • Current record: 4-1-2, 14 points
  • Louisville played to a second successive draw on Sunday as it was held scoreless for only the second time this season in a 0-0 draw against Bethlehem Steel FC.
  • The game brought to an end a four-game goal-scoring streak for Chandler Hoffman, who leads the league with seven goals this season.
  • Louisville has gone 3-0-1 on the road so far this season, earning victories at Charlotte, Cincinnati and Harrisburg.
  • Niall McCabe is tied for the league lead with three assists alongside Wilmington Hammerheads FC’s Mael Corboz.
