Toronto hosts Cincinnati looking to continue undefeated start

VAUGHN, Ont. – Toronto FC II will look to continue its undefeated start to the season on Sunday afternoon, but will get a big test from an FC Cincinnati side looking to bounce back on the road. Kickoff at the Ontario Soccer Centre is set for 4 p.m. ET.

Toronto FC II news and notes

  • Current record: 1-0-2, 5 points
  • Toronto narrowly missed out on a second consecutive victory last Sunday when Pittsburgh scored a stoppage-time equalizer to earn a 2-2 draw at the OSC. 
  • Raheem Edwards scored his second goal in as many games for TFC II against the Riverhounds, after opening his account for the season against FC Montreal on April 9.
  • Toronto announced the loan of goalkeeper Quillan Roberts, defender Ashtone Morgan, midfielder Jay Chapman and forward Jordan Hamilton to TFC II on Friday.
  • Toronto has outscored opponents 3-1 in the first half this season, but has been outscored 4-3 in the second half.

FC Cincinnati news and notes

  • Current record: 2-2-0, 6 points
  • Cincinnati had a USL regular-season record crowd on hand as 20,497 fans packed into Nippert Stadium last Saturday night.
  • Austin Berry scored his second goal in as many games to give Cincinnati an early lead in the contest, but a hat trick by Chandler Hoffman led Louisville to a 3-2 win.
  • Berry is tied with Sean Okoli for the team-high with two goals this season. Corben Bone leads the team with two assists.
  • Cincinnati has outshot its opponents 54-37 in four contests this season.
