Republic FC looks to bounce back from first loss as STLFC visits Bonney Field

SACRAMENTO, Calif. – Sacramento Republic FC returns home to host Saint Louis FC on Saturday night looking to bounce back from its first loss of the season. Kickoff at Bonney Field is set for 7:30 p.m. PT.

Sacramento Republic FC news and notes

  • Current record: 2-1-1, 7 points
  • Sacramento fell 1-0 to the Portland Timbers 2 last Sunday as Kharlton Belmar scored the only goal early in the second half.
  • Belmar’s goal was the first Republic FC had conceded this season, and ended a 315-minute shutout streak from the start of the 2016 season.
  • Sacramento has been held scoreless in each of the past two contests, recording seven shots on goal in those games.
  • Saturday’s game is the first of two in a row at home for Republic FC, which will host in-state rival Orange County Blues FC on April 30.

  • Current record: 1-2-2, 5 points
  • Saint Louis FC is on a three-game undefeated streak after last Saturday’s 0-0 draw with Tulsa Roughnecks FC in the club’s home opener at World Wide Technology Soccer Park.
  • STLFC recorded 11 total shots, and six on goal, but was unable to continue its good recent run of form in front of goal that had seen the side scored five goals in the two games prior.
  • Rookie Vince Cicciarelli leads the team with three goals this season, with the former Des Moines Menace standout having earned two USL Team of the Week selections this season.
  • Last Saturday’s game saw STLFC record its first shutout of the season, as Mark Pais recorded four saves.
