Harrisburg hosts its home opener with Eastern leader Louisville the visitor

HARRISBURG, Pa. – The Harrisburg City Islanders will look to build on their first win of the season as they host the Eastern Conference leaders Louisville City FC in their home opener on Friday night. Kickoff at FNB Stadium is set for 7 p.m. ET.

Harrisburg City Islanders news and notes

  • Current record: 1-2-1, 4 points
  • The City Islanders claimed their first win of the season last Saturday as Cardel Benbow scored the only goal in a 1-0 victory against Orlando City B.
  • Benbow was named to the USL Team of the Week on Tuesday for his performance, the second selection of his young career.
  • The City Islanders will play the first of 10 home games at FNB Stadium on Friday, with the second arriving on Monday night when they host Orlando City B.

  • Louisville took its second consecutive victory this past Saturday as it took a 3-2 win against FC Cincinnati in front of a USL regular-season record crowd of 20,497 at Nippert Stadium.
  • Chandler Hoffman scored a first-half hat trick for Louisville, and was voted the USL Player of the Week with 94 percent of the vote on Tuesday.
  • Hoffman’s strong scoring record has followed him to Louisville, where he has four goals in four games this season to sit tied for the league lead.
  • Friday’s game opens a stretch of four games in 13 days for Louisville, with visits to Bethlehem Steel FC and Toronto FC also included in that stretch.
