COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC host the LA Galaxy II on Saturday night as it pushes for a win to ensure a top-two seed in the USL’s Western Conference Playoffs.

The Switchbacks will be playing the LA Galaxy II for the last match of the regular season. The match is this Saturday at 7 p.m. MT at Sand Creek Stadium.

“We’re looking for three points on Saturday to keep our momentum going,” said Switchbacks FC Head Coach Steve Trittschuh.

This is the third meeting between these two clubs, with each winning one of the last two matches. Now both teams are fighting for the win to ensure top seeding in the playoffs. If the Switchbacks win, they are guaranteed a spot in the top two for the playoffs. “We can only control our game, and while we’re watching the other playoff teams, we can’t worry or think about their result,” said Trittschuh.

Currently, the Switchbacks (14-9-4, 46pts) are in the top two in the USL’s Western Conference, a point behind OKC Energy FC, which moved into first with a 1-0 on Wednesday night against Arizona United SC in its final game of the regular season. The Switchbacks also lead the league in penalty kicks, having been awarded 10 so far this season,  converting every one of them.
