Local CBS station will feature on uniforms, have presence at home contests

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Louisville City FC has announced a partnership with local CBS station WLKY for the 2016 USL season. The groundbreaking agreement will see WLKY featured on the club’s jerseys, and also bring team programming to the network throughout the season.

“This is an important strategic partnership we are thrilled to bring to the Louisville community,” Louisville City President Amanda Duffy said. ”As we work with WLKY Louisville to deliver first-class, in-depth coverage of the club, our growing fan base will now experience new levels of access to our players, matches and breaking news.”

WLKY will have a presence at Louisville Slugger Field for each of the club’s 15 home games this season, with four-time Emmy Award-winning chief meteorologist Jay Cardosi set to serve as the master of ceremonies at LouCity’s season kickoff party.

The partnership is expected to grow into an extensive broadcast and in-game production relationship, with segments to be shown on the in-stadium large-format scoreboard and on the CBS affiliate on television.

Louisville City FC will welcome its fans this Friday to the Opening Whistle, where the club’s new third jersey will be unveiled. The event will be held at Over the 9 from 5-7 p.m. ET, as City builds toward its home opener on Saturday, April 2 against the New York Red Bulls II.
