Five players who competed in the USL last season were named on Monday to the latest U.S. U20 Men’s National Team that will compete later this month at the Dallas Cup. Real Monarchs SLC’s Sebastian Saucedo and Seattle Sounders FC 2’s Victor Mansaray were among the call-ups by Tab Ramos as the group continues to build toward the 2017 FIFA U20 World Cup in South Korea.

Mansaray made 16 appearances for S2 in the 2015 season, his first as a professional, and recorded one assist. The Sounders Homegrown signing also made his MLS debut last season, making three appearances for the Sounders.

Saucedo, currently on loan with Veracruz in Mexico, made seven appearances for the Monarchs last season and recorded a pair of assists to help the side make a strong late-season run. He is joined in the squad by fellow Monarchs player Danny Acosta, who made three appearances for the side before being signed as a Homegrown Player this offseason by Real Salt Lake.

Orlando City SC’s Tommy Redding was named in the defensive contingent after spending time on loan with Wilmington Hammerheads FC in 2015. Redding made his professional debut in the USL in 2014 for the Lions prior to their move to Major League Soccer last year, when he made 17 appearances and 10 starts for the club.

Joining Redding in the defensive group is New York Red Bulls Academy player Marcelo Borges, who made two appearances as an Academy signing for the Red Bulls II in their inaugural season in the USL.

The U.S. U20s will open play in Group A of the Gordon Jago Super Group on Sunday as they face FC Monterrey Rayados at the Cotton Bowl. Ramos’ side will then face Fulham FC and TSG 1899 Hoffenheim to round out the tournament’s group stage.
