CHESTER, Pa. – Bethlehem Steel FC scored a goal in the opening minute, and then swept to a 5-0 victory against Syracuse University on Sunday afternoon at Philadelphia Union Training Center. Trialist Mohammad Diallo scored twice to lead the way for Steel FC.

Bethlehem’s early strike came from Jamaican forward Cory Burke, and the side pushed on as Diallo put home his first soon after. Steel FC made it 3-0 just before the halftime break when Eric Ayuk was brought down in the penalty area, and former Sacramento Republic FC forward Gabe Gissie converted from the spot.

The Steel FC defense, which included recent MLS SuperDraft No.2 pick Joshua Yaro, was rarely troubled as Bethlehem controlled much of the contest. Diallo added a second just past the hour-mark with a fine finish, and fellow trialist Jamie Luchini added a fifth late on.

Steel FC will face Georgetown University on Sunday, March 20 at the Union Training Center in its final warm-up for the 2016 USL regular season.
