TUKWILA, Wash. – Seattle Sounders FC 2 (10-6-2, 32 points) defeated Arizona United SC (7-8-1, 22 points) 4-0 and recorded its sixth shutout of the season on Sunday.

S2 forward Oalex Anderson scored twice in the first 15 minutes to get Seattle on the score sheet, with Aaron Long and Pablo Rossi adding goals later in the match to secure the victory. New signing Tyler Miller got his first start in goal and recorded his first shutout for the club.

With the victory, S2 jumps into first place in the USL's Western Conference. Seattle is tied with the LA Galaxy with 32 points apiece and owns the head-to-head tiebreaker over Los Dos.

Two minutes into the match, Anderson scored his second goal of the USL regular season after Aaron Kovar worked into the Arizona 18-yard box before passing to Sérgio Mota. Sérgio passed along to Anderson who slotted his shot past the goalkeeper to make it 1-0.

Anderson forced a turnover in the Arizona half in the 14th minute to create a one-on-one opportunity with goalkeeper Carl Woszczynski and found the net for his second of the night. Anderson would have to be taken off in a stretcher in the 30th minute after an injury picked up moments before.

Long, who replaced Anderson, scored from a header in the 37th minute from a Kovar free kick.

Sérgio would pick up another assist in the second half as he found Rossi with a through ball out to the right side. Rossi powered his right-footed effort past Woszczynski after taking a deflection off an Arizona defender. Rossi holds the team lead in goals with seven, and it marked Sérgio’s fourth assist of the season, good for second in the team.
