WALTHAM, MA -- The Boston Renegades announced Clemson University’s Jenny Anderson and Irish International Denise Thomas will join the team for the 2005 season.

Anderson of Mission Viejo, CA, was a four-year starter and two-year captain for Clemson.  At centerback she was the heart of the Tigers’ defense and earned several ACC accolades, including selection to the ACC All-Freshman Team.
Thomas, of Rotherham, England, enters the Renegades fray with an impressive resume.  She has played in the English National Premier League (ENPL) and plays on the international stage for Ireland.  Both players will bring extensive experience to the 10 returning Renegades players announced last week.

These women will be valuable assets to the Boston Renegades in 2005.  Anderson played in one of the strongest women’s college soccer conferences in the country.  At Clemson, she regularly matched up against ACC rivals UNC, Virginia, Miami and Florida State.

On deciding on the Renegades, Anderson commented, “I am really looking forward to working and playing with such an elite group of women.  I am very excited to have been given the opportunity to play for the Boston Renegades.”

Denise Thomas comes to the Renegades with a wealth of experience under her belt.  In her senior year at Central Connecticut State University, Thomas proved herself a versatile player who could play anywhere on the field. She also played for the famous Doncaster Belles and for Sheffield Wednesday Ladies.  Additionally, she has earned 14 international caps for Ireland since 2003.

Thomas is very much looking forward to linking up with the Renegades. “I am really excited about being given the opportunity to play for the Renegades.  The set-up is fantastic and I believe playing with players of such high caliber will be a great experience,” explained Thomas.

Director of Coaching, Peter Bradley was equally pleased to bring in the two players for 2005. “Jenny Anderson is an excellent player and has been like a rock at the heart of Clemson’s defense.  She will be a great addition to the squad and her experience in the ACC will serve her well here in Boston,” stated Bradley.  He continued, “Denise Thomas’ resume speaks for itself.  She has played top level soccer in England and represented Ireland at the full international level and a player with that experience will prove valuable for the Renegades this season.”
