FULLERTON, Calif. — The LA Blues announced today that midfielder Allan Russell and forward George Davis IV will rejoin the team for the 2013 USL PRO season. This will be the second season with the Blues for both players.
“It’s always exciting to have players return to a team, and it’s no different with Russell and Davis.” said Warren Barton, the team’s general manager and technical director. “They both bring experience and a work ethic that the Blues is looking for.”
Russell, 32, appeared in 20 games last season for the Blues, accumulating six points for the season. Russell scored twice and notched two assists. Prior to joining the Blues, Russell played for the Carolina Railhawks, where he scored five goals. Before plying his trade in the U.S., Russell played for a handful of teams in England and Scotland.
Davis, 25, notched one assist in 12 appearances for the Blues last season. After his final season at the University of Kentucky, Davis joined the Dayton Dutch Lions, playing 16 games, scoring five goals and seven assists.
