TAMPA, FL – In a continuation of United Soccer Leagues’ efforts to expand its footprint in the social media landscape as well as provide new levels of team services, Seth Witkowicz has been named Director of New Media, USL President Tim Holt announced.

Witkowicz, who spent the past two years as marketing and communications manager at USL, will immediately begin working to develop and execute USL’s social media strategy while assisting USL teams in realizing the full exposure and revenue potential of their social media platforms.

“We are thrilled to have Seth take command of our new media ventures, directly working with our marketing and communications departments and all USL teams to ensure everyone reaches the maximum level of sophistication possible,” Holt said. “His background in media and video technology is impressive and will undoubtedly serve USL and the teams well moving forward.”

In addition to overseeing USL’s online social media presence through outlets such as Facebook and Twitter, Witkowicz will also continue to manage league broadcast initiatives, including the USL Live online platform. He will work to increase interactivity with clubs in the USL Second Division, Premier Development League, W-League, Super Y-League and Super-20 League through new programs designed to provide better video capability for the teams.

“I am extremely excited to have this opportunity to lead our new media efforts,” Witkowicz said. “New media is an ever-evolving landscape and we must stay ahead of the curve as new technologies continually emerge. It is also vital that we offer every one of our teams unparalleled service across the board, and new media is certainly an area we must focus on.”

A Masters graduate of the University of Miami in Film Production, Witkowicz worked in conceptual motion media development prior to joining United Soccer Leagues in 2008. The University of Nebraska Broadcast Journalism graduate also has five years of experience in the communications and media relations field.
