TAMPA, FL – United Soccer Leagues announced the home openers for each of the teams for the USL Second Division’s 2010 season, unveiling opening night as Saturday, April 17.
The Charlotte Eagles, Real Maryland Monarchs and defending league champion Richmond Kickers will mark the beginning of the season April 17 with three games on the same night. Charlotte will play host to the Charleston Battery, who will be making their return to the league after 13 seasons in USL-1, at 7:00 pm ET at Charlotte Christian Stadium while the defending champions take on the Harrisburg City Islanders at University of Richmond Stadium.
Earlier in the evening, the Pittsburgh Riverhounds will help kick off the season in the league opener as Real Maryland hosts the ‘Hounds at 6:30 pm ET at Richmond Montgomery High School.
The Battery and City Islanders will make their home debuts the following Saturday, April 24 and Pittsburgh will be the last team to open their home slate on Sunday, May 2.
