“I predicted it seven years ago,” said Dr. Josef Schulz of Schulz Academy. “I predict it now. Josmer Altidore will be one of the top players at the 2010 World Cup in South Africa. He will be playing for the U.S. Men’s National Team.”

After Altidore’s extraordinary performance on Saturday, April 21 against the defending Major League Soccer Champion Houston Dynamo, Schulz is finally not the only one predicting a bright future for the new teen star of Red Bull New York. American soccer experts, the commentators of the game, and international experts all agree that “Jozy” has everything a player needs to succeed on the highest level of soccer.

"It was not only the game deciding goal,” said Schulz. “It was the overall performance which showed he has made the next step. He did not loose balls in difficult situations. When facing his own goal and being surrounded by three or more defenders, he created great goal scoring opportunities by himself, and at the end decided the game with a typical Josmer goal.”

“The funny thing is every goal he scored up until now in the MLS and every goal he will score in the future, will be typical Josmer goals because he already scored so many goals in his life,” added Schulz. “I think he scored around 100 goals every year in the eight years he played either for Boca Juniors or for our Academy."

Altidore stared for Schulz Academy playing in United Soccer Leagues Super Y-League the past two seasons, taking the Super Y-League North American Finals in the U14 and U15 divisions in 2004 and 2005. Last season, even in the absence of their brightest talent, who was chosen by Red Bull New York with the 17th overall pick in the 2006 MLS SuperDraft, Schulz Academy won an unprecedented third consecutive North American Championship with a 1-0 win over Los Angeles FC in the U16 division.

"What makes Josmer so special is the fact that he plays the most difficult position on the field,” said his former coach. “Playing in the midfield or as a defender it is much easier than the position he plays. To be the target player, like he is at Red Bull, for a 17 year old, and being the only forward is not an easy role. He plays this position already like the top professionals in Europe."

"Josmer is a big role model for our younger players in the Academy,” added Schulz. “They can see the door is wide open for American players to make an international career."
