ARVADA, CO -- The Mile High Edge this week announced the signing of four more players for the 2007 season, including returning team captain and team Most Valuable Player Katie Antongiovanni.

Along with Antongiovanni, the Edge also added two returning players, goalkeeper Isabel Briones and defender Jamie Norwood, along with new Mile High signee Cee Cee Odorfer.

Antongiovanni will be back for her fourth season with the Mile High club. In her previous three seasons, she was named to the W-League’s All-Western Conference squad. In her best season, 2005, she was placed on the W-League All-League First Team, after leading the conference in scoring with 12 goals and two assists.

Antongiovanni played her college ball at Denver University, where she is currently an assistant coach. She was named Denver’s Female Athlete of the Year in 2002, and played professional soccer for the San Jose Cyberrays in 2003.

Briones returns for her second campaign with the Edge, after completing her junior year at Memphis University. She had a solid season for the Tigers, picking up 11 wins and 8 clean sheets. She holds the Memphis career record for wins (22), shutouts (15), and goals against average (1.12). She still has her senior season to add to all of those records.

The Edge welcomes back defender Jamie Norwood for the new season. Norwood returns to the squad after playing in a different league in 2006. She played a large part with the Mile High team in 2005, which finished with a 10-4 record. She is the all-time assist leader at the University of Denver, where she starred from 2000-2003.

The only new Edge player announced this week is forward Cee Cee Odorfer, who completed her sophomore season at Northern Arizona. Not only was she the Lumberjacks’ leading scorer (6 goals, 3 assists), but she was also named to the All-West Region team, plus the All-Big Sky Conference squad.
