The Montreal Impact, the English Montreal School Board (EMSB) and the Commission scolaire de Montréal (CDSM) have announced the creation of a new stay-in-school program called All the way with the Impact (Jusqu’au bout avec l’Impact), designed to promote the importance of persevering in school.

Piranhas team up with VPSA
The Hampton Roads Piranhas have announced an affiliation with the Virginia Power Soccer Association (VPSA).  VPSA is a non-profit organization with the mission to develop, support, encourage, and foster the participation of Virginia’s power wheelchair athletes in the competitive sport of power soccer.

Impact to play for Breast Cancer
The Montreal Impact will play a promotional game during the "Soccer Extravaganza" event, which will take place June 25, at Riverside Field, in Lasalle. All profits for the match will be donated to the Quebec Breast Cancer Foundation. Montreal Impact president, Joey Saputo, will be the honorary chairman of the event.

Club partners with SOS Children's Villages Canada
One of Canada’s elite men’s soccer clubs has set its sights on a new goal -- building families for South Africa’s orphaned and abandoned children.  Announcing the partnership between the Toronto Lynx Soccer Club and SOS Children’s Villages Canada (SOS), Kelsey Lemon, Partnership Co-ordinator for SOS described the association as a natural progression of the international link that has already been forged between FIFA and SOS Children’s Villages International.

Montreal Impact captain Mauro Biello and Impact Chairman of the board Claude Chagnon will be the honorary chairmen of the 28th Montreal Games, which will take place two consecutives weekends, April 1 to 3 and April 8 to 10.

Nashville Metros to play Air Force in charity game
The Nashville Metros and the U.S. Air Force Men’s Soccer Team will face off at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 15 at Ezell Park in a friendly match to raise money to help armed forces families in Tennessee who have lost loved ones in Afghanistan and Iraq.

Battery aid charity with Oktoberfest

Oktoberfest on Daniel Island raised $2,461 for Live 5 News's 2004 Debi's Kids campaign.  The event was held on Saturday, October 2 with $1 from every ticket purchased to the event donated to the charity. The one-day festival featured live German Oompah bands, authentic German beers and food; other activities included barrel races and three-legged races and dancing with chicken dance, polka and waltzing.
