Super Y-League / USL Super-20 League

USL Super Y-League and Super-20 League presence at the U20 World Cup is highlighted by Bryan Arguez, who stared with Kendall SC’s U17 side at the 2006 North American Finals and Josmer Altidore, whose talent was so reputable he was gobbled up by Red Bull New York at age 17.

Arguez was the hero of the Super Y-League U17 North American Finals Showcase Match on Fox Soccer Channel in which they defeated Red Bull New York U17’s, 2-1. He was also a vital member of the inaugural Super-20 League North American Champion, Kendall SC. He was drafted by D.C. United in the first round of the 2007 MLS SuperDraft.

Altidore won two Super Y-League North American Championships with Schulz Academy at the U14 and U15 levels before being drafted with the fifth pick in the second round of the 2006 MLS SuperDraft.

Defender Ofori Sarkodie played club soccer with the Chicago Magic of the Super Y-League’s Midwest Division.

Forward Gabriel Ferrari was the 2005 Super Y-League U16 boys North American Finals Most Valuable Player with the New York Red Bulls. Ferrari scored the first goal of the game in the finals against Santa Clara. The game went into overtime where Red Bull New York took the match 2-1. Ferrari scored three goals in the North American Finals. He became the first American to play in Serie A when he joined Sampdoria earlier this year.
