Training Underway
Weather is like Seattle... rainy, windy & cold

Thursday, January 11, 2006

My experience in Norway has been very positive so far. We are only a few trainings into the preseason, and I am looking forward to the many training matches during the next few months.

We also take a trip to Spain to train, and enjoy some better weather.

I have really enjoyed the training sessions I have had so far. Wednesday we played in a full size indoor center to work on technical skills, then in the afternoon session we played games to goals, and worked on formation and tactics.

I can see myself developing my ability here quickly and having success in the league.

The weather here is not unlike Seattle… rainy, windy and cold. The people here in Norway are friendly and willing to offer help to me whenever needed. It definitely helps that everyone speaks English since I only know a few Norwegian words. The standard of living seems high, everyone seems to enjoy life and live well.

It has been tough leaving my family behind in Seattle, knowing that they have supported me so well through my career. I look forward to setting up my webcam so I can communicate with them face-to-face. My girlfriend Estrella will also be joining me here in Haugesund, which will surely make a transition like this possible. Without her, I would have a much more difficult time leaving the US.

I also look forward to watching US soccer continue to grow and the national team stay established as a top team. The national team is something I dream about and hope my European adventure brings me closer to that dream.

Hope all is well in the states and send my wishes.
