The Puerto Rico Islanders took the initial lead in the final step toward qualifying for the CONCACAF Champions League Friday night in Bayamon with a 1-0 victory over Trinidad & Tobago’s San Juan Jabloteh. Fabrice Noel provided the lone strike for the Islanders.

The final CFU (Caribbean Football Union) representative to the 2008-09 CONCACAF Champions League™ will be determined this month as the Puerto Rico Islanders take on San Juan Jabloteh of Trinidad & Tobago in a home-and-away series. The Islanders will stage the first-leg of the CFU Playoff in Bayamón, Puerto Rico on May 9.
