
After posting a 5-5 record in their inaugural 1996 season, the Wildcats struggled competitively in the region, going six seasons without a winning record until the club began to turn things around in 2002.
Back-to-back seasons of 7-6-1 and 7-7-0 led to a breakout campaign in 2004 that saw the side finish 14-0-0 on the season. They would win finish the postseason unbeaten, but without a title as they were defeated in penalties in the championship game. They suffered their first loss in two seasons the following year as they went 13-1-0, but swept the postseason with four victories to claim the W-League championship in 2005.
