USL Playing Opportunities & Tryouts
The try-out information below has been provided by USL teams in the USL First Division, USL Second Division, USL Premier Development League, and the USL W-League.  It is recommended that interested players visit team web sites for further information about playing opportunities.
 
USL FIRST DIVISION
 
Atlanta Silverbacks - Jan 19-21, Feb 16-18
Tryouts will be limited to 50 participants per session and will be filled on a first-come first-served basis. The fee to attend tryouts is $200. Atlanta Silverbacks’ coaching staff and professional coaches from other teams will be assessing players attending the tryouts. If you are invited by the Atlanta Silverbacks staff to return and attend the Atlanta Silverbacks Invitational Tryout in March, this $200 registration fee will be refunded to you.

California Victory - January 13-14
Open Trials in Northern California will be held at the University of San Francisco. Pre-registration is required. There is a $35 Trial fee.

Carolina RailHawks - March 15-17
The Carolina RailHawks will hold a formal tryout/combine at SAS Soccer Park in Cary, North Carolina. Unlike typical open tryouts this will be a comprehensive well organized combine with all players being evaluated by head coach Scott Schweitzer and staff over a three day training session. Players will be provided a hotel room for Thursday and Friday night as well as all meals being provided. Players will be competing for invites to our pre-season training camp which begins March 19th which will run approximately one month. Any players invited to our training camp will be refunded the entire cost of the combine. Players applying must fill out an application, waiver, payment information, and mail back payment of $275.

Charleston Battery - Jan 19-21, Feb 2-4, March 2-4
Players need only attend one week. Accommodations and meals are included in the price of the trials. The cost for each trial camp is $300 ($200 locals not staying at team hotel). Space is extremely limited so please apply early. There is no application fee and you will only be charged if you are accepted to the trials.

Minnesota Thunder - Feb 11-16
The 2007 player combine to be held at the Irish Dome in Rosemount, Minnesota. Players interested in attending the combine must send in an application and resume by January 17, 2007.  All resumes will be reviewed and selected participants will be notified on January 19, 2007. There is a $175 fee for non-hotel participants and $395 fee that includes lodging. Fees are due Jan. 31.

Portland Timbers - Jan 20-21
The invitation-only tryout camp is open to players 18 years of age or older. Interested players must submit a request for an invitation application to Brad Nicholson at bnicholson@pgepark.com and include playing history (along with any awards and accolades), preferred position(s) and vital statistics. FEE: $75 for all participants. Cash, money order and credit card are accepted.

Rochester Raging Rhinos - March 18-21
The Rhinos an invitation-only combine at Lynn University in Boca Raton, Florida with meals and accommodations provided by the Ocean Breeze Inn and Golf Club. Registration fee includes three full days of room and board, two full training sessions, three full 11 vs. 11 games and two training shirts. In order to be eligible for the combine, all potential applicants must e-mail (aensinger@rhinossoccer.com) or fax (585-454-7000) the application to the Rhinos office along with a payment of $350.00. The deadline for application is March 14th.

Seattle Sounders - Feb 17-18, March 17-18
The Seattle Sounders are hosting two separate open tryouts for the 2007 season. Players have the option of attending the first session on February 17th & 18th or the second session on March 17th & 18th. Both tryout sessions will be held at Starfire Sports Complex in Tukwila, Washington. The cost for tryouts is $75 if participants sign up online prior to tryout dates.

Virginia Beach Mariners - Jan 26-28, Feb 23-25
All tryouts will be held at the Virginia Beach Sportsplex.  Virginia Beach coaches will be evaluating players throughout the weekend. USL SECOND DIVISION
 
Cincinnati Kings - March 1
The Kings have announced an invitation-only Pro Tryout from 10-3:00 at Town & Country Sports Complex in Wilder, Kentucky. Interested players with professional resumes should visit the Kings website to download an application and submit it. Tryout attendees will include current Cincinnati Kings players, invited professionals, and players selected from the Kings’ Open Tryout on February 2.

Cleveland City Stars - Jan 26-28 (CA), Feb 1 (OH)
Tryouts will be held in different locations throughout the United States within the next couple of months. All interested players should submit a 1-2 Page soccer resume including the non-refundable registration free. Pre-Registration deadline ends 3 days prior to the tryout date. Please be aware that space is limited and only a selected number of players will be invited to participate. There is a $90 fee for pre-registered players, $110 fee for walk-ups.

Crystal Palace Baltimore - February 5-6
The expansion team will host tryouts at Harford Community College in Bel Air, Maryland from 9-12:30. Harrisburg City Islanders - March 10-11
Tryouts will be held at In The Net Sports Complex in Palmyra, PA (minutes from Hershey). All players must pre-register online and there is a $75 registration fee.  The coaching staff will review all registrations and confirm acceptance prior to the event.  Space is very limited, so register early.

New Hampshire Phantoms - Jan 26-27
The tryouts will be held at the Hampshire Dome in Milford, NH. Anyone interested in attending must email gm@nhphantoms.com to confirm. The cost for any new attendees will be $25.
 
Richmond Kickers - Feb 10-11
The 9th Annual Player Combine for eligible college seniors, qualified free agents and talented amateur players that are seeking a professional contract will be at facilities in Richmond, Virginia. A selected number of applicants will be invited to participate in two days of intense training and scrimmages. The application cost is $99 and does not include travel, hotel room nights or meals. The Kickers will once again guarantee to sign at least one player from the combine to a professional contract that will include a $500 signing bonus.
 
Western Mass Pioneers - Jan 26, Feb 2, 9, 16, 23
The Pioneers are holding tryouts at Soccer City - Wilbraham. There is a one-time fee of $50. A tryout application is required. For more information contact ops@wmpioneers.com
 
Wilmington Hammerheads - March 10-11   *** Location Change ***
Tryouts will be held at the Univ. of North Carolina-Wilmington. Please be there at 8:30am to complete the registration process on the first day. There is a non-refundable $99 registration fee per player. Please note that space is limited and only a select number of players will be invited to participate. The Hammerheads will guarantee to sign at least one player to a professional contract from open tryouts which will include a $500 signing bonus.

Bakersfield Brigade - February 17-18
The Brigade will conduct an open tryout for their upcoming 2007 season from 9am to 12:00 noon at the Kern County Soccer Park (KCSP) located on Alfred Harrell Hwy. Registration will begin immediately at 8:30am. In addition, the Brigade will be hosting an invitation only tryout on Sunday February 18th at the KCSP, which will include a selection of Saturday’s participants that have a shot at making the 2007 team. Cocoa Expos -  Feb 24, March 3, 10, 17
Tryouts will take place at the Cocoa Expo Sports Center. Tryouts will be limited to 50 participants per session and will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis. Players must register and pay a one-time 2007 Season Tryout Fee ($25.00). Cocoa Expos Coaching Staff and College Coaches will be assessing players attending the tryouts. Delaware Dynasty - March 17, April 1, May 5
Delaware Dynasty will hold two open tryouts on March 17th and April 1st. Players who are successful in the open tryouts will receive an invitation to the Invite Only Combine that will be held on Saturday, May 5th. Tryouts will take place from 10:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. at Delaware State University’s state-of-the-art artificial turf field in Dover, DE. There is a one-time tryout fee of $30 per applicant.

Fort Wayne Fever - March 9

Lancaster Rattlers - February 17-18
The final tryouts are at the Lancaster National Soccer Center. All applications must be mailed to United Sports International Inc. as per instructions on the site. There is a fee of $75.00 per applicant. Deadline for all applications is February 8th. No walk ons will be accepted.

Laredo Heat - March 2-4
All three tryout sessions will be in Laredo, Texas. Interested players must submit a soccer resume prior to February 28. The tryout session on Friday will begin at 6:00 PM and will be held at the Laredo Job Corp Soccer Field. The sessions on Saturday and Sunday will be held at the Texas A&M International Soccer Field starting at 10:00 AM and 8:00 AM respectively. Cost for the three day tryout sessions is $25.00 and any out of town players coming to Laredo will be provided lodging for both Friday and Saturday nights. Mississippi Brilla - March 10, March 24
Open tryouts for the Premier Development League team will be held on March 10 and March 24. Tryouts will take place on the home field of Mississippi Brilla FC, Robert P. Longabaugh Field on the campus of Mississippi College in Clinton, MS. Tryouts will begin at 10:00 AM each day. High school players, college players, and former college players are welcome to attend either or both March tryouts. Long Island Rough Riders - Jan 3-4
Tryouts will be held at the Rough Riders Indoor Center at Mitchel Athletic Complex in Uniondale, NY from 10 a.m.-noon each day. Players must register online by Jan. 3 in order to attend tryouts. These tryouts are for college-eligible players, based on the age guidelines designated by the PDL.
 
Northern Virginia Majestics – May 5-6 & May 12-13
Open tryouts for the Northern Virginia Majestics 2007 W-League team will be held on the first two weekends in May. Locations and times will be announced on the website. Tryouts are open, but female athletes with professional, collegiate, or other high level soccer experience are encouraged to attend. Please bring a copy of valid birth certificate or passport to the tryouts. Copies of the registration and other necessary forms will be available at the tryout site. Interested players must pay a one-time registration fee of $25 that covers all tryout sessions prior to participating. Ocean City Barons - March 11, 17, 18, & 24.
The Ocean City Barons will be holding open tryouts for the 2007 season in March. All tryouts will be held at the Tennessee Avenue Soccer Complex, in Ocean City, N.J. Tryouts will be held March 10 from 5-7 pm and March 11 from 9-11 am. The Seals Open Tryouts will be held at USF Negoesco Field: Shani Simpson, and Tony Alejandre will officiate the trials. Players are encouraged to attend all tryout dates. In preparation for their respective 2007 seasons, the Toronto Lynx and Lady Lynx will hold open trials for elite amateur players on March 14, 2007 at Astra Sportsplex in Vaughan.  The Lynx coaching staff will be on hand will evaluate interested male players from 12-2 pm, while the Lady Lynx coaching staff will be taking over from 2-4 pm for female players. Experienced players, particularly those with college or university experience, should contact Rob Irwin at 416-251-4625 x 23 to register for the trials.   Space is limited and interested players must register prior to the trials.

The Lady Pioneers are conducting three open tryout sessions at SportsWorld in East Windsor, CT. The first two are from 9:30-11:30 pm and the last is 8:30-10:30 pm. There is no fee.
