USL-1 players headed to Gold Cup
Six players to represent Canada, Haiti and Panama

TAMPA, FL – Six current USL First Division players were named to the 2007 CONCACAF Gold Cup™ final rosters for Canada, Haiti and Panama from the Montreal Impact, Vancouver Whitecaps, Puerto Rico Islanders and Miami FC.

Five of the six USL-1 players to square off in familiar MiamiCONCACAF (Confederation of North, Central American and Caribbean Association Football) announced Tuesday the final rosters for all twelve teams that will compete in the 2007 CONCACAF Gold Cup™ from June 6-24 in six venues in the USA. All the rosters along with team-by-team information can also be found on the official tournament site www.GoldCup.org.

Representing Canada will be three-time USL-1 Defender of the Year Gabriel Gervais (Montreal Impact) and midfielders Martin Nash (Vancouver Whitecaps) and Antonio Ribiero (Montreal Impact).

Haiti called up starting back Stephane Guillaume from Miami FC as well as reserve goalkeeper Gabart Fenelon and Panama called in Victor Herrera from the Puerto Rico Islanders.

The Canadians and Haitians will square off in Group A at the Orange Bowl in Miami while Panama will face confederation power Mexico in Houston after a pair of games in New York.

The roster for each team consists of 23 players, as stipulated in the CONCACAF Gold Cup™ Tournament Rules and Regulations. A listed player may only be substituted in the event of a serious injury up until 24 hours before the team’s first match at the 2007 CONCACAF Gold Cup™.

Gabart Fenelon (Haiti) – Goalkeeper – Miami FC
A new addition to the squad this year, Fenelon has not seen any action between the posts for Miami. He helped guide Haiti to the 2007 Caribbean Championship.

Gabriel Gervais (Canada) – Defender – Montreal Impact
Currently regarded as the top defender in the top flight of USL courtesy of three Defender of the Year honors in the last four years, Gervais is an eight-year veteran of the league, earning All-League honors the past five years and winning league titles with Montreal in 2004 and with Rochester in 2000 and 2001 before moving to the Impact.

Stephane Guillaume (Haiti) – Defender – Miami FC
Guillaume is in his second season with the new USL-1 side after helping guide the team to the postseason in its inaugural campaign. He also helped lead Haiti to the 2007 Caribbean Championship.

Victor Herrera (Panama) – Midfielder – Puerto Rico Islanders
Herrera joined the club prior to the CONCACAF Champions Cup Qualifiers in December after capping a three-year stint at San Francisco FC (Panama) with the Torneo Clausura 2006 championship.

Martin Nash (Canada) – Midfielder – Vancouver Whitecaps
A veteran of USL First Division action dating back to 1995, Nash has been a member of the Whitecaps, Impact and Rochester Rhinos, winning three league championships (Rochester 2000-01, Vancouver 2006). He is currently in his fourth year of his third stint with Vancouver and is the brother of NBA MVP Steve Nash.

Antonio Ribeiro (Canada) – Midfielder – Montreal Impact
Ribeiro has been a key contributor the Impact’s recent run of dominance that includes the 2004 league championship and a pair of regular season titles. He has played for the club seven times over the past eight years, missing the roster in 2002, but helped guide a local club to a national senior amateur title.
